With several years of experience in grant writing, I have worked with various arts organizations, including provincial bodies in Nova Scotia (Arts Nova Scotia, Music Nova Scotia), federal organizations (FACTOR, Canada Council for the Arts, SOCAN Foundation), and am now expanding my expertise to organizations within Ontario and Quebec.
Grant writing is a personal passion of mine, both as an artist and entrepreneur. Arts grants play a vital role in providing funding for artists and organizations to support projects such as recording, marketing, showcasing, and touring.
As a grant writer, my role is to craft compelling and comprehensive applications. This includes:
Developing realistic budgets that align with project goals.
Writing a persuasive project narrative that resonates with adjudicators and highlights the purpose and impact of the project.
Collecting support letters to strengthen the application.
Creating an achievable project plan with SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals that can be tracked throughout the project timeline.
In the past two years, I have applied for 22 grants on behalf of various artists, ranging across different funding amounts. To date, I have achieved an 90% success rate, reflecting the strength of the applications and the strategic approach I bring to each project.

Factor - secured $65,000 in grant funding for 2 artists across 6 grants (one touring grant, 4 showcasing grants, and one Juried Sound Recording grant for $40,000)
